Wisconsin recall: Scott Walker nowhere to be seen during final stretch

In the days before the biggest election in Wisconsin in years, Republican Gov. Scott Walker is nowhere to be seen on the campaign trail:
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will campaign for three Democratic Senate recall candidates Saturday.

Barrett, a Democrat who lost the governor?s race in November, is doing the Fox Valley events while the winner of the gubernatorial race, Republican Scott Walker, keeps a lower profile in those contests. [...]

John Hogan, who is running the Republican Senate recall efforts, said that Walker has been ?extremely helpful? in energizing GOP voters. He said that the governor has done fundraisers for GOP recall candidates but couldn?t immediately point to a more public campaign event such as a rally done by Walker.

Goal Thermometer
As governor, Walker is the leading figure of the Wisconsin Republican Party. It is a tacit admission of Republican weakness for him to not appear at public campaign events. His absence means that Republicans are running away from themselves.

We have the advantage, and we need to fight like hell to keep it. No matter where you live, you can join that fight:
